Weybourne Coastal Retreat: A Bespoke Kitchen for a Holiday Home in North Norfolk
This fully managed, turn-key kitchen renovation in Weybourne, North Norfolk, was a true transformation. Our client’s charming coastal bungalow—untouched for many years—was in need of a complete overhaul, and Fox & Bear Bespoke Interiors were delighted to take on the challenge.
From the initial consultation at our Fakenham showroom to the final reveal, every detail of the project was handled by our in-house team. We stripped out the original kitchen, re-wired the space, replastered, laid new LVT flooring, and redecorated throughout—including new skirting boards and repairs to internal doors, walls, and ceilings. We also sourced and installed a tall electric radiator to provide efficient, low-maintenance heating—ideal for a holiday home that's used seasonally.
The Design Process
This project showcases how we can work flexibly and remotely with clients. After our first meeting in the showroom, we continued the design process online, tailoring the layout and finishes to suit both the space and the owners' lifestyle. With the kitchen being used primarily during holidays, our focus was on creating a low-maintenance, stylish, and fully functional space.
Key Features
We chose a slim shaker kitchen range in solid ash, painted in a rich Deep Lichen for a soft yet characterful finish. To enhance durability and visual warmth, we specified Bardolino oak laminate for the worktops, splashback, upstands, floating shelf, and even the window sill—ensuring a cohesive, easy-to-clean surface throughout.
To improve lighting in what was previously a dim space, we added much-needed ceiling spotlights as well as COB lights under the wall units, offering both task lighting and a soft ambient glow in the evenings.
To maximise space, we incorporated several thoughtful storage solutions, including functional pull-outs and an integrated bin discreetly housed beneath the sink. These discreet features help keep the kitchen clutter-free and practical, making it perfect for holiday living.
Key appliances include a Caple inset sink with a stainless steel tap, a Neff induction hob, oven, and a fridge with integrated ice box—perfect for summer stays and seaside treats. A mid-height oven housing provided a practical eye-level cooking experience while maintaining an open feel and maximising natural light.
We’re proud to have transformed this dated space into a light-filled, coastal kitchen that strikes a balance between practicality and relaxed style. The clients are now ready to enjoy their new kitchen throughout the summer season.
