At Fox & Bear, we believe good design starts with conversation
Every home is different, and so is every person who lives in it.
Before we think about layouts, finishes or furniture, we take time to listen to understand how you live now, what you enjoy about your home and what you’d like to change.
From the very beginning, you’ll work with the same person throughout your project. We believe that relationships matter, and that good design grows from trust, openness and taking the time to get things right.
Starting with a complimentary concept
We always begin with a complimentary concept stage.
This is a relaxed and friendly starting point, with no obligation to continue, and a chance for us to explore ideas together.
Many clients choose to visit us at our Fakenham showroom, where you’re very welcome to settle in with a coffee and something freshly baked.
We’re pet friendly, have plenty of parking, and we want the space to feel comfortable and welcoming — more like a home than a showroom.
This first stage usually includes:
A meeting at the showroom or in your home
A survey of the space, allowing us to understand both the practical details and the potential
A design meeting where we share two or three layout ideas, supported by 3D visuals, which you’re welcome to keep
The opportunity to explore samples, and for us to send additional finishes directly to your home if that helps with decision-making
Clear budget guidance, so you can see whether the project sits comfortably with what you’re looking to invest
We know this is not a quick decision. Designing a home isn’t a sprint — it’s more like a marathon. At this stage, our aim is to define the project’s requirements, build a relationship with your designer and give you the clarity you need to move confidently into the next part of the process.
Developing the design
As the design develops, we work closely with you to refine layouts, explore materials and make choices that suit both your home and the way you live.
We don’t follow a fixed look or formula. Some projects lean contemporary, others are softer or more traditional. The choice of furniture, suppliers and finishes is always tailored to the individual project, rather than the other way around.
You remain a central part of the process throughout. We guide and advise, but decisions are made together, at a pace that feels comfortable.
Preparing for installation
Once the design is agreed, we begin planning the practical side of the project. This includes coordinating lead times, deliveries and working closely with trusted local trades.
Careful preparation at this stage makes a real difference later on, helping the installation run smoothly and with fewer surprises.
During the fit
During installation, we stay closely involved and remain your main point of contact.
You’ll receive weekly updates on progress, along with any changes to the schedule, so you always know where things stand. If questions come up along the way, we deal with them promptly and clearly.
Our aim is to make this stage feel supported and well managed, even when there’s a lot happening behind the scenes.
After everything is finished
Once your project is complete, we carry out final checks and make sure everything is working as it should.
You’ll also receive an aftercare document, which includes warranty information, guidance on how to care for your kitchen or furniture, and useful contact details should you need them in the future.
We’re always happy to hear from you after completion — whether it’s a quick question, some advice, or simply to see how you’re enjoying the space.
A note on investment
Most Fox & Bear projects begin from £25,000, based on dry fit.
Final costs depend on the size of the space, the level of specification and the choices made along the way.
You’re always welcome
If you’re thinking about a kitchen, fitted furniture or a wider interior project, we’d love to welcome you into the showroom.
Pop the kettle on, bring the dog, take your time — and let’s start a conversation.
Book a meeting at the showroom or get in touch to begin the complimentary concept stage.
Moving forward
If you decide to continue beyond the concept stage, we ask for a £150 commitment payment.
This allows us to move into detailed design and specification and helps us secure time for your project. The payment is fully offset against your deposit later on and acts as a small but important commitment on both sides.
You don’t need to have all the answers at this point — that’s what we’re here for.
We can’t recommend Olga and Anthony highly enough.
From beginning to end their communication was fantastic and really hands on - listening to what we wanted and always offering up a range of solutions. Olga put together a great team to deliver the project .
Thank you!
