A carefully considered kitchen renovation in a listed village property
Our clients approached us with the challenge of renovating a kitchen within a listed property in the historic village of Foulsham. The priority was to create a timeless, practical kitchen that respected the integrity of the building while providing increased storage, enhanced ventilation, and space for modern, high-performance appliances.
The Design Approach
The biggest challenge was the property itself. As with many listed homes, moisture control and air flow were key concerns. Working with a heritage specialist, we undertook a careful strip-out and wall treatment, ensuring that the building could continue to breathe naturally.
To further support the building’s health, we recommended and installed the Elica Snap — a smart air extractor that activates automatically when it detects excess humidity or odours. We also allowed for generous ventilation space behind all cabinetry, helping to prevent trapped moisture.
‘We can’t recommend Olga and Anthony highly enough. From beginning to end their communication was fantastic and really hands on - listening to what we wanted and always offering up a range of solutions. Mark the kitchen fitter was brilliant and Olga put together a great team ( orange fox electrics and Steve Earlz plastering ) to deliver the project .
Thank you!’

The Kitchen
Our clients chose the Hawkshaw slim shaker range in Painted in one of the in-house colours, Oyster, a beautifully understated finish that sits comfortably in a period property. We combined solid oak worktops with quartz in the sink area to create both warmth and durability.
A traditional Belfast sink was paired with a stunning brass tap, adding a classic touch with a refined finish. We carried this brass detail throughout from the cabinetry handles to the tea towel holder, door stopper, and wall hook, ensuring every element complemented the overall aesthetic.
A thoughtful mix of drawers and cupboards offers flexible storage
An internal larder drawer system simplifies food organisation
Appliances were reused where possible, and the washer and dryer were relocated to the utility for a more streamlined kitchen
