This recently completed project by Fox and Bear Bespoke Interiors reimagines the property as a modern yet characterful retreat, perfect for holidaymakers and dog owners alike. The Den is a stunning Scandinavian-style holiday home nestled behind a dune in the charming village of Eccles on Sea, Norfolk. With a complete transformation of the kitchen, dining room, living room, bedrooms and bathrooms, The Den now offers an elegant, functional, and inviting space with private beach access
The Kitchen
The kitchen at The Den is both functional and stylish, designed to cater to the needs of today’s families. Inspired by the property’s Scandinavian roots, we specified the Alby furniture range in Fjord, a cool and calming blue-green hue, paired with Carrara-effect quartz worktops for a seamless and durable finish. The open-plan layout invites natural light and promotes sociable cooking and dining. Freestanding appliances were chosen for their practicality, while clever storage solutions keep the space clutter-free. These features come together to create a kitchen that is as practical for meal prep as it is a pleasure to relax in.
The Bathroom
The bathrooms are a highlight of The Den, blending Scandinavian minimalism with modern luxury. Karndean Carrara marble-effect planks laid in a herringbone pattern provide an understated yet sophisticated flooring choice. Acoustic panel-effect wall tiles enhance the tranquil aesthetic while being easy to maintain. The addition of an en-suite bathroom ensures privacy and convenience, while the family bathroom was reimagined for better flow. Every detail, from the choice of fixtures to the coastal-inspired palette, contributes to a spa-like atmosphere ideal for unwinding after a day by the sea.
The Living Room
The living area exudes warmth and relaxation, making it the heart of this holiday home. A Boho-inspired aesthetic weaves through the space with soft furnishings and floral accents. Salvaged wood-effect flooring adds rustic charm, echoing the natural textures of the nearby beach. Thoughtful touches, including a repurposed timber coffee table and custom “Den” coasters, enhance the home’s character. The large windows and open-plan layout allow the beauty of the coastal surroundings to pour in, creating a serene and inviting environment to gather with family and friends.
