Designer’s Honesty: Why I’ll Always Tell You If Something’s a Waste of Money

Let’s get one thing straight: I’m not here to upsell you fluff.

I built Fox & Bear on a simple principle – I will never recommend something I wouldn’t want in my own home. That goes for gadgets, finishes, suppliers, and even tradespeople.

So, in the spirit of full Polish honesty, here are some things I don’t think are worth the money:

  1. Marble worktops – Beautiful? Yes. Practical? Absolutely not. They stain like mad and are incredibly high-maintenance. You’ll likely regret it.

  2. Steam ovens – Unless you’re an absolute foodie and plan to sous vide your dinner every week, it’s probably overkill. Especially once you factor in the need for a vacuum drawer.

  3. Warming drawers – Only worth it if you’ll actually use them. Otherwise, opt for a basic accessory drawer and spend the money elsewhere.

Basically, I’d rather you spend money on things that genuinely improve your kitchen experience – like proper storage, layout, or quality finishes. Not flash-in-the-pan trends.
